TikTok is renowned because of its 15-second quirky videos, but users must also be from the watch out for scammers in the network that is social.
Cybersecurity business Tenable circulated a 50-page report on Wednesday that outlined three forms of scams it entirely on TikTok that involved directing users to adult internet dating sites, impersonating popular users and boosting loves and supporters.
“Given TikTok’s meteoric increase in appeal, it comes down as no real surprise that scammers would get sucked in,” Tenable researcher Satnam Narang stated within the report. “thus far, these frauds be seemingly in their infancy.”
This year in March, Narang started tracking scammers on TikTok, which surpassed 1 billion downloads. A TikTok spokeswoman stated the company that is byteDance-owned taken straight straight straight down all of the records mentioned in the report and depends on a variety of technology and individual reports to quickly recognize records that violate its guidelines against defrauding or misleading users in the platform.
